And here are my first-ever knitted socks. They took me thirty days to knit, although I do have to say I had a deadline because they were done with a class. Knit on #2 Susan Bates needles (plastic coated metal, I think) with what I now refer to as The Usual Suspect (Sockotta sock yarn, color number 5618, I think). Dutch heel, flat toe, seven inches of k2p2 ribbing for leg.
I'm wearing them right now and they sure feel good. That's about the best testament to success I can think of. I'll write more about other past projects soon!

More catch-up
Memory kicked in and I decided to photograph more of my past finished objects for your perusal. This purse was featured in the first Interweave Knits Crochet issue in 2004. It was called the Colorwaves Handbag, because you were supposed to use Lion Brand Colorwaves yarn. I found a suitable substitute in town (Lion Brand Homespun, color "Adirondak," color discontinued) and made the purse in record time... but then had to wait almost six months to get the handles. Nobody had them. I finally tracked down the company that imported them, and they only sell wholsale. Finally, my LYS ordered one for me. If I had it to do over again, I'd line it before I did the gathering at the top and assembled it. Eventually, I think I might take it apart and find some really cool nubby yarn (maybe my own handspun) and a fun button and do it again because it's a nice design.
