Distraction

Today I'm dealing with a couple of minor personal disppointments so YOU, loyal readers, all three or so of you, are going to help distract me for a little while. Let's start with a photograph of the Cathedral of San Marco in Venice, Italy. The entire inside is covered with mosaics that have a shiny gold background, but they don't allow interior photography. However, these mosaics are outside to tempt you to come inside, and give you a little taste of the whole.

Well, I've gone and done it... I went over to my LYS and picked up six skeins of Galway for a second edition of the Sierra Cardigan. I'm not at all sorry -- the yarn is firmer and is making up to be a much nicer sweater than the Encore was, and it's a lovely turquoise/sky blue. It's going really quickly and I'm about two-thirds finished with the back piece (I started it on Thursday night) so will probably be wearing it in a couple of weeks.

The first JaWoll sock is finished, and I'm scooting along on the second. I also finished the Fern Glade beret! After a good soak and a stretch over a plate, it turned out really well and even looks good on me. I'll put up a picture when I can figure out how to photograph it. And while we're at it, my brother in law tried on his first kilt hose sock last week, and it fits. Thank goodness I made so many notes while I was knitting it! Time to start the second one and finish the project.

Just in case you were wondering, I'm also doing things I'm supposed to be doing. I've just needed a little more time to sit, knit, and ponder in the past couple of weeks. As for right now, time to be off and get with a few chores. Ciao!
