Another one bites the dust...

Another one of my regular go-to blogs has become silent, as in, not updated for almost a year.  Today, I can kind of understand why.  When signing into this site, it tried to force me to "upgrade" to the new Google Plus, which I didn't want to do.  Before it was over, I had to change my password for not only this site but for my regular at-home email, just to get out of the vortex.  Google Plus wanted me to surrender yet another level of my privacy so they could more accurately spam my inbox, but for today, I won.  But I do want to say that if I stop updating here, it's not because I'm abandoning you wilfully, it's because I can't get in.

I do have some more finished things to show.  First, here's my "Tiger Scarf," in our school's main color, to wear with my black suitly things for work.  You probably can't tell but all along the edges of this scarf, there are tiny occasional sequins that sparkle just a little.  This took me almost a week, although it should have taken only an hour; it was a little fiddly and I didn't have more than a few minutes any day to work on it.

This beauty is the second afgan square I made for Heather of Craftlit.  The pattern is "In Treble" by Julie Yeager on Ravelry.  I think the center looks like a pile of little flowers.  I just finished another one this morning, but this time I used a rich dark lilac for the center, and it really reminded me of a lilac bush.  The pattern is much easier than it looks, and this might become my go-to for afghan squares that I send to be part of other people's projects because it goes together so quickly and has such a nice impact for the effort.

And finally, here's the "Dreamtime Cowl" that The Amazing A-- designed.  I finished this about ten days ago and have worn it three times since (we had an eighty degree day, then a nice little cold snap).
