As of now, I'm still in roughly the same spot that I was last week -- working on my courses, doing a little knitting, etc. There has been no real progress to write about.
The Emperor and I have begun watching West Wing. In brief, it's a series featuring the lives and work of a whack of White House staffers, plus a fictional President. My friend Artistic A-- enthusiastically recommended it to me back in September or so, and I put it in the queue, but it took this long for it to get to the top of the page and be sent by Netflix. I kind of had my doubts about it; usually when something is popular and people are talking about it, it turns out to not be my cuppa tea. For example, I watched about half of an episode of the highly-touted The Office, and was utterly turned off. Then, I think about how I felt that way about Downton Abbey, and how we ended up obsessed, and decided to give West Wing a chance. Well, we're not obsessed with West Wing, but we are enjoying it immensely.
We had our second snow of the season yesterday morning, only an inch or maybe two of dry, powdery snow. It's been so cold that it didn't melt at all, and there hasn't been any wind, so it pretty much has just been laying there. I went out to clear the walks and the driveway this morning, and did almost all of it with nothing more than a broom. It's still cold, and officially it's only got up to the teens this afternoon, but the snow is melting on the lawn. According to Randy's grandma, we're only going to have one more snow this winter. C'mon, Grandma!
All right, back to work.
