The Knitter's Black Hole reappeared today. I measured my Wildfoote sock yesterday, and determined that only eight rows stood between myself and the toe decreases. I completed five rows, and re-measured. I now have ten rows to go. I wonder if any scientists would be interested in investigating this phenomenon. Imagine coming up with the hypothesis, and then setting up the experiment. What if it's not just in our heads, but it's real?
It boggles the mind. I'm not sure I'd want to know for certain.
The Doctor Who Pattern Book arrived in today's mail. The Fifth Doctor's Cricket Jumper will be falling out of the T.A.R.D.I.S. someday soon. Or maybe just someday, since it's taken me over three months to produce two relatively simple socks and I will will will finish the Kepler before I begin it. But nothing can stop me from getting the yarn, or swatching.
There is a curious line in the pattern, in the place where the numbers of stitches should increase for larger sizes -- instead of saying "(2, 4, 6, 8)" it says "(6, 2, 8, 4)". I have no doubt that it will become clear when I make a swatch. Which I will do. Because I want it to fit my husband when it's done. Someday.
If I can ever finish these socks.
