Let me start by saying that I like bears and I have a lot of sympathy for them. However, I like cats more than bears because they're accessible. You can occasionally pet a cat and they won't take your arm off. Note that I said occasionally.
Did you catch the story about Jack the Cat? It was all over the internet last week. The orange tabby chased a bear up a tree in New Jersey. Look at the picture, right. See that little orange triangle thingy at the bottom of the tree? That's Jack.
His picture is up on my corkboard now, right next to Hornblower. As one internet pundit observed, size doesn't matter. It's a good lesson in many ways.
Over my lunch hour I cast on for Pellew's Pelisse, while casting a wary eye on the Guild Afgan. Guess I know what I should do tonight... And, I photographed most of my socks for the blog, but it's not that simple to get the photos up. I generally write my blog text at home, and take the photos to work with me on a disk to upload as my work computer doesn't recognize my digital camera. I'd do the whole danged thing at home but I have (gasp) dial-up internet service there and uploading photographs to Blogger generally shuts the whole system down after freezing it for an hour or so. Excuses, excuses.
