Wild Things

Aha! That's how to do it, how to add text to multiple photographs. Anyway, here are the Pink Sockotta Socks, made from Sockotta in color #5616, "Persimmon," on #2 DPNs and they took approximately five weeks to get from package to plate.

These are the Wildfoote Socks, made from Brown Sheep Wildfoote Luxury Sock Yarn, in color SY300, "Ragtime" on #2 DPNs. These are the epic socks that took me a whoppin' three months to finish. They aren't really two different colors -- they match each other rather well. Make sure you give socks made with this brand of yarn a good vinegar rinse to set the color before you wear them.

Sockotta is turning out to be my personal favorite sock yarn. It's easy to knit with and it doesn't tend to split. It gets softer each time you wash it, and the colors seem to hold after the first washing (although I think that the vinegar rinse helped). Socks made with this yarn are comfortable. No, I'm not working for Plymouth, they don't give me free yarn, and I'm not trying to create a buzz. I just like this yarn. It's what I look for when I get into exotic yarn shops.

It's my goal to have a pair of homemade socks for every day of the week, plus an extra pair or two to wear while I'm washing the rest of them. Most of the time I have to dress "professionally" for work (skirts and hose) but I'm thinking of weekends and vacations and the occasional casual Friday when I wear jeans. I'm not one of those people who have to have socks to match their outfit. The wilder the better, say I.
