It's not Friday

but it's still eye-candy. This is the Wind River Gorge in Wyoming, looking north. Friday was one of those gorgeous turquoise and white days on the Northern Plains... well, it was gorgeous once I got out of the blizzard.

I'm in a knitting slump. I've done a row here or a row there, but there isn't anything of real substance to report on that subject. Perhaps as the week wears on I'll get with the program.

A cat may be acquiring Orchard Ranch in the next few weeks. Our dear friends J-- and D-- are moving to Hawaii from Colorado, and they believe that the trip over would be too hard on Uncas. So, he may be moving to our neck of the woods and the Emperor and I will assume duties as his staff. We've been cat-free a little over two years, since Henrietta Sisterpuss Eagle-Burger (Scorpion-Bane) went to the Great Litter-Box In The Sky.

Sis was a Great Cat, and earned the names life bestowed upon her. She narrowly escaped becoming lunch for the eagle that ate her kitten sister, and she once offered me a large scorpion. The Emperor took her camping with him -- Sis was the Camp Cat. She was game, she liked to play rough, and she was fiercely loyal. We can't ever replace her, but we can honor her memory by giving Uncas a good home.
