Yukking it up

While K-- and I were in Oklahoma City, we drove out to Clinton to visit the Route 66 Museum. It was a lot of fun! One of the first exhibits you come to is a gallery of Route 66 kitsch, and we found this barrel that invited you to open it. See?

And this is what you see when you look inside.

Arr arr arr! We laughed long and hard about that one. This isn't a big, rich museum but they do a fine job of presenting the story of the Mother Road both chronologically and thematically. Their greatest appeal is to nostalgia tourists and Europeans, but K-- and I had a blast anyway.
(throws pebble to attract attention of knitting gods in other direction) I may be in danger of finishing the Emperor's Seamless Hybrid this weekend! I just have the saddles and the collar to do, and then wash it and block it. I've been spending every spare moment working on it and once the decreases take out some of the bulk, the knitting goes really fast. I'm hoping it will look remotely as good as this one. Cross your toes for me!
