I need to make this a quick one because the Emperor left his coat in the car when I dropped him off at work, and it's gotten cold outside. And, I need to pick him up for the day in a few minutes.
First, the Rivendell sock is screaming along nicely. I'm finished with the first chart, and once I got a good cast on (hellooooo, concentration!) it went quickly.

Sockotta is a great yarn for this pattern, but I'm not thrilled with the soft but visible stripes -- I thought it was just a multicolored yarn, not a stripey one. Oh, well... I still like the sock. The yarn gives it great stitch definition. When I started, I wondered why the pattern called for a twisted rib rather than a traditional rib, but once the sock was in progress I could see why -- the twisted rib is somehow more decorative than the traditional. Plus, it's stretchier.
And here is the promised shot of the singles I spun last week from the remainder of my "color experiment." I still get excited when I look at this yarn, and I still can't decide whether to leave it as a singles or to ply it on itself. The third option would be to spin up some of the orange or the red and then ply it with that, but for now, I have enough bobbins to just leave this on and admire it now and then.

More later, when I have time. I'm not doing much spinning this week but am dedicating my fiber time to the Olympic sock.
