Another next sock

Working on that Happy Place Sock revived my sock knitting mojo, so after I put it away for a rainy day, I dug out another ball of yarn, found my second set of bamboo needles, and started the Flower Power Socks.  They're out of Opal's "Flower Power" self-striping yarn, probably so named for their resemblance to sixties tye-dye.  I did about half a leg of the first sock, then laid it aside to continue the (thousand-mile never-ending stockinette slog) body of the Jupiter Cardi.  I'm making slow progress, mostly because I can only do a few rows before I need to put it aside.  I've got about ten inches now, so I'm past the halfway point to the underarm.  I'm sure it will go more quickly once I get to that point -- or at least I hope so!

There was a young woman at the Arkansas fiber festival who had made and was wearing Jupiter, and it looked very nice.  She was a slim young thing, so she had about a fourth of the knitting that I'm in for.  You know, that's a good reason to carve off some lard -- it will save me knitting time.
