Fighting the Urge

It's everything I can do to stop myself from starting half a dozen new projects since I finished the Emperor's Christmas socks last week.  I keep drifting over to the KnitPicks website and cruising the yarns, or thinking about what I've got stashed that could furnish the raw materials for something.  What I really need to be doing is finishing the Jupiter cardigan, or the White Caps Cowl, or any of the several socks in progress that are currently filling my knitting basket.  But what am I thinking of?

About a year and a half ago, I started a Leaf Lace Cardigan, which is actually a vest.  It's made from crochet thread (yes, number 10 thread) and is a pretty, delicate lace pattern.  I did a couple of repeats surprisingly quickly, but after seeing a few finished examples I stopped knitting it.  Like the Dahlia Cardigan, I don't think this one is for me.

Then, I came across this Easy Lace Jacket, which not only comes in my size but has sleeves.  I can see myself in this one!  The problem is that the two balls of KnitPicks Curio that I got for the Leaf Lace cardi are about half of what I need.  I would have to order four balls in order to have enough in one dye lot to make the project.  It wouldn't take very long to crochet, and I could use it for my professional wardrobe.  My hangup?  I can't decide on the color.

Complicating matters is the Coppice Cardigan.  I'd use the rusty brown I bought for the Dahlia Cardigan, so I wouldn't have to order anything.  As a matter of fact, I've got a couple of nice laceweight yarns that would do for this, so it would just be (wait for it) a matter of picking the color.

So this evening, when the Emperor and I settle in to watch something or other on the DVD player, I'll be picking up the Bluesy-Greensy Sock, the Flower Power Sock, the White Caps Cowl, or even Jupiter.  I'll be a good girl and finish something before starting something else.
