That's what I've named my new laptop, above. I call it Aqua because that's the color theme I chose when setting it up. Immediately after ordering it, I ordered a laptop skin from Mary Engelbreit. You can appreciate the result. It's how I feel sometimes while looking at Facebook or the news.
It still seems that I can only add images to this blog using Firefox as a browser, no matter which computer I use. Aqua came with Microsoft Edge, which I find a little hard to use. Add to that a touchpad which is hyper-sensitive, and I'm usually pretty frustrated when I'm on it. I'm sure I'll get used to it, and a new mouse will help, but for now I only use Aqua to poop around on the internet. Eventually, I will be using it to work from home.
The first of the Emperor's Christmas Socks for 2015 is finished. Once I got the mojo back (read: once I put the sock where I could see it and remember to work on it) it practically flew off my needles. I've got more than half of the second sock's leg knitted, and plan to have this pair finished by the end of the month. Below is a pretty fair representation of the yarn's colors.
It's Labor Day weekend, and both of us were looking forward to "running away" for a day or so, but now that we're down to it, we don't know where we want to go. We do need to do a little bit of big city shopping but that's not essential. We've packed a little bag and we're about to take off and follow our nose and be wild and unpredictable.
Later: Well, we stayed home. I've had that cold all week, and after breakfast I just couldn't make myself move. The Emperor and I took a nap, did the weekly shopping, and then got take-out barbecue for supper. I feel much better for the rest; maybe tomorrow we'll bestir ourselves to get outtah Dodge (we don't live in Dodge City, but it's still a good phrase to use).
As it turns out, the image uploading problems are with the most recent versions of Windows and Edge, and the recommended fix is to use Firefox. Le sigh.
Yet later: On Sunday we did travel to Not Far Medium College Town and then to Nearby Slightly Larger City to do that shopping. We found most of what we were looking for, plus a few things we'd forgotten to put on the list, and we had a nice day of it. We headed home in the evening rather than spending the night out. We ended up having a pretty nice Labor Day spent not laboring.
