Currently Slurping

When something isn't right in a pretty spectacular way, I like to say "that doesn't just suck, it slurps."  The past three weeks have been what could be described as a trial.  We struggled to accomplish everything that needed to be done and go home, but we did it.  Finally, as we were on the last leg of our journey back to Smack in the Middle, the weather went south on us.  Once we got to Pueblo, Colorado, it should have taken me just a little over four hours to get home, but five hours into a drive through rain and snow, I was done, stick-a-fork-in-me-done.  At the rate we were going, we had at least another five hours of the same ahead of us.  We pulled into a small town, found a hotel, and are currently ensconced in a warm, safe room with a very comfortable bed and watching West Wing.

Yes, this slurps, but not as much as it could have if we had stayed on the road.  I have no idea when we'll be able to continue our journey home, but we'll get there eventually and for now, we're under a roof and going to get a good night's sleep.

What a long, strange trip it's been.
