So, I actually got out there to clean up the yard, and finished what I'd set out for myself to do. I never laid out the stays, though, and didn't do the grading. I did a little bit of grocery shopping for the week, and cooked a nice chicken curry.
One thing I did do was to get some decorative bead end caps so I can put together a pair of Regency earrings. I had most of the pieces to do these already. This is a pair of actual period earrings:
These originals are faux pearls made of glass, so I don't feel too bad making mine out of whatever my old earrings are made of. Mine once belonged to my mother and had screw-backs, but I converted them to pierced many years later. I might use a carnelian bead at the top instead of a round pearl, just to be different. I also have some peridot-colored glass beads that are about the correct size.
These green ones below are also correct to the period, and I have a couple of pairs of something similar in my jewelry box right now. These are made of "paste" so I don't have any problem with mine being cut glass.
Regency jewelry looks surprisingly modern, doesn't it?
