Maybe I'll start one of those blogly trends, where people all do something on the same day, like Self-Portrait Tuesdays, Random Wednesdays, or Eye Candy Fridays. I'll call it, "Where Did My Weekend Go? Mondays." Do you think it will catch on?
I know exactly where the weekend went. I baked one unsuccessful loaf of Raw Apple Bread, and then baked a successful one. I figured out what to get Our Daughter-In-Law for her birthday, and then followed through and shopped for her. I planned our Thanksgiving meal. And, I knit like a fiend, through several Harry Potter, Hornblower, and Fred Astaire movies.
The French Market Bag is finished, felted, and ready to rumble. I plan to put a nice set of sock needles in it with a ball of sock yarn, and send it to my sister for The Upcoming Holiday. The knitted portion of the Ms. Poppins' Bag is finished, and is ready to assemble when I make some decisions about handles and lining. I shopped for, swatched for, and cast on for the Sierra Cardigan, and I have burned through about one-fourth of the right front piece already.
Where are all of the photos, you ask? The other side of the weekend coin is that I was incredibly lazy about many things as well. The vacuum cleaner stayed in the guest room closet. I didn't get my sweaters washed. There is still visible dust on many level surfaces around the house. I didn't take blog photos, despite the beautiful weekend weather. But, you win some and you lose some.
The Stitch and Munch Bunch met, with a small group, but it met. Other people are vowing to bring in projects and join us -- it's just a matter of remembering over a weekend. I worked on the Sierra Cardigan and knit about an inch and a half. I tell ya, the four-stitches-to-the-inch-gauge is really working for me. I might actually finish this one before I forget why I started it!
I don't talk about work on this blog, at least, not much. But this morning I received a telephone call that made coming to work worthwhile. I was asked to put together a package of information about a topic that makes me smile, and I had fun all day assembling it. As in knitting and housekeeping, you win some and you lose some.
