There wasn't anybody with me to take the picture while I sat on the rabbit, so you'll just have to imagine yourself up there. It's Eye Candy Friday and this is what you're getting this week. This is the Jackrabbit, on Jackrabbit Road off of Route 66 right before you get to Holbrook, Arizona. My first garter square for Greensburg is finished, but it clocks in at eight and a half inches on each side, instead of the called-for eight inches. I'll still send it, but for now I'm making another one and trying to figure out how I did it... I measured, constantly. Oh, well, the first square is still useful.
Meanwhile, I'm fighting another case of startitis, and a bad one. I've got the Emperor's seamless hybrid humming along, and that lovely soft Chanel Revisited sweater for myself, but I caught myself eyeballing yarn to make another Sienna Cardigan, if you can believe that. My first one went really fast and it was a fun knit -- that's part of the problem! However, the yarn I used for the first one was Plymouth Encore, a polyester wool blend and soft, almost too soft and very pilly because I had to use such a big needle to get gauge. I've been thinking ever since that I'd like to do it again, this time with a wool or wool blend, and make it with a fatter yarn so I could make tighter stitches. I'm thinking Knitpicks Sierra Bulky, maybe in a green. I'm thinking I need to have my head examined.
I'm soo very tempted to get some of that beautiful Cotlin, and make that Lotus lace tank top from the cover of the Summer 2006 Interweave Knits. I'd probably do one more lace repeat row to make the top longer, but it's something I'd wear to work.
Plus Rowan 40 with the beautiful Juno sweater is winging its way to me.
Stop me, somebody! I have enough to do if I just stick with the knitting I've started!
