Next week is my big professional conference, in Slightly Far Off Big City. I plan to stay in an Extended Stay America hotel rather than the conference hotel, absolutely because I'll save about a hundred dollars per night that way. Extended Stay hotels are actually studio apartments, with a stove, refrigerator, and desk space besides the bed. Most of them come with comfy chairs, and some even have couches. It really is the way to travel, if you need to be somewhere more than one night, and even for one night, as the price is low compared to even the cheaper motels. So, I'll pack up Yellow the Laptop, my notebook, some nice clothes, and a knitting project, and head down to where the action will be.

the promised skein
There it is... this is pretty close to the real color, although the yarn is just a little more intensely turquoise in person. I think it's the best spinning job I've ever done.
Not much else to report, especially since I posted yesterday. Two posts in two days... I think it's a record, at least for the past couple of months or so. Our weather's about to turn in a more normal direction for this neck of the West; they're predicting snow later this week so I think our tomatoes and cucumbers have probably produced their last fruits. I picked a pile yesterday; now I've got to come up with something for dinner that will use at least one tomato of each color.
