Quiet
It's very quiet here this afternoon. After two really miserable nights during which the Emperor hacked and coughed and fevered, we finally went to the hospital and they admitted him with bronchitis. The Emperor tends toward the recently-commented on stereotype of the Man With Cold -- meaning we're in for drama if he gets sick -- but he also has life-long asthma, so it can be touch and go when there's gunk in the lungs. Until this morning, I wasn't sure if this was emergency room-worthy or just another stay-in-bed-and-get-over-it kind of cold. But there he is. Since I didn't sleep for either of those two nights and still had to be at school early, I'm exhausted and am supposed to be home getting a nap. However, I'm taking the opportunity to wash the bedding and do a little reading before heading back to the hospital for a visit and to bring him his book and some clothes. The quiet, and a cup of decent coffee, is almost as good as a rest.
What I should be doing is working on that stack of exams over there in my bag.
At any rate, it's the first day of Spring Break. Until yesterday, there had been talk of going to Not So Distant Metropolitan Area to do some shopping, but I think it's going to have to wait. The house will get some much-needed cleaning, and I might even do those sewing projects that have been in the hopper forever.
