Cloth
I just finished this washcloth, and I'm about to head into the shower to try it out. Tomorrow morning the Emperor and I are going to try to get over to Large Regional City to get that shopping done that we've been trying to do for weeks. We should have left this evening, but I was just too tired to drive (as in, not enough good sleep-tired).
The Yarn Harlot hadn't updated her blog for about three weeks, which is very much unlike her. However, this evening she posted, briefly, saying that her mother had died after a short illness and she was taking some time off. I've been reading her blog for as long as I've been knitting -- over twelve years -- and I feel like I know her a little, enough to be sad on her behalf. What a strange world, where people a thousand miles and a life apart can be sorry for each other. Empathy, sympathy -- they're good things, human things. Stephanie has a lovely family and a brand new grandson, and I wish her peace and returning joy.
Meanwhile, millions of Texans are up to their armpits in water because of a hurricane. As much as I don't care for Texas, I wouldn't wish that on anybody, and I hope they can get dried out and cleaned up very soon.
I'm off to the shower.
