Queen Procrastinator, here.

But look what I did! I finished two projects this afternoon, and each took an hour or less. I'm not sure why I picked either of them up but I did and there you have them. The Nineteen Year Long Ordeal of the Cross Stitched Nutcracker Ornament is over. He is sewn, stuffed, and ready to hang on the tree. He's full of natural cotton roving, which is what I had at hand when the moment came. And instead of a gold bead at the top of his shako, I gave him a red one to bring out his jacket and the single red stitch in the center of the hat ornament.

I also finished the knitting kneedle case that I cut out about a month ago. Built from the pattern in Deborah Stoller's Stitch and Bitch, it has four kinds of fabric and spaces for twenty sets of straight needles. I'll feature it tomorrow; I'm amazed that even one photograph loaded from my home computer to this blog. I had almost given up trying. Two or more photos would be too much to expect from this dial-up connection, if I ever want to get to bed.

Anyway, make that needle case if you kneed one. Start to finish, had I stuck with it, it took less than three hours to construct. The secret is to get the parts together and then just go for it. If I have to hunt down the tailor's chalk, or the right color of thread, or anything interrupts me, procrastination sneaks in and the project gets laid aside.

My back is much better, but still giving me twinges, especially when I sit in my office chair. Walking and moving around helps, so I found lots of reasons to have to scoot down the hall, over to the other side of the building, and so on. I should be nearly up to full speed tomorrow.

Hold fast for that kneedle case.
