Getting buffaloed

Here's that bison roving that I spun up last weekend. That's a half-ounce of Buffalo Gold. I have no idea of the yardage but it's definitely not enough to do much of anything yet. If you let it ply back on itself, the two ply is a fine fingering weight, light as a feather.

You can also see that Dr. Focus-Challenged is still alive and blogging.

Below is what a half-ounce of bison roving looks like (keyboard for scale; don't compare it with Stonehenge). You can see that this stuff is pretty dear and shouldn't be spun or knitted lightly.

This is the second half-ounce. I've been having such a rough week that I promised myself that if I could make it through Wednesday without, erm, causing bodily damage to my peers, I could get this second ball... so you can see everybody survived today. If I make it though to Saturday morning, I can have something else from the LYS. If I make it to Wednesday of next week, I get a third something... and then I'm on vacation and won't have to resort to elaborate self-bribes to display socially acceptable behavior. I'm not usually like this, but desperate times call for desperate measures... and plenty of gourmet fiber.

I spun some up while sitting here waiting for the two photos to load. It spins like a cloud. Sigh.

While we're talking about fiber, the first sleeve for the Sienna Cardi is finished and bound off. I did that in less than five days, three of which were evenings spent after a full day's work, which I think is a personal record. Somebody kick me off of this computer and tell me to go cast on for the second one so I can avoid the dreaded Second Sleeve Syndrome and maybe even get to wear it for Christmas!

Edited to add: I just went to bed last night, and did the cast-on for the second sleeve this morning, all the while fighting an overwhelming urge to work on the Ombre Hombre Sock Two. Maybe this is Second Sweater Syndrome...
