The weekend went all over the place, that's where. Saturday was our institution's open house, where about half of the local community comes in to hear Christmas caroles, get their picture taken with Santa, or eat cookies. I volunteered to help with the head count, but it was really an excuse to hang out and watch all of the nice knitted goods walk by. Knits are sooo in this season, and it's fun to see what yarn goods people are wearing.
The handles for Ms. Poppins' Bag are knitted and sewn together, and now only a lack of pursely hardware stops me from the final finishing push -- maybe tomorrow night. The back of the Sienna Cardi is finished, and I'm about a third of the way through the left front. Meanwhile, I wore Pellew's Pelisse to a friend's house and .... it's soft, comfortable, and warm. The sleeves are about an inch too long, but the cuffs turn up perfectly. Believe it or not, it looks sharp over a black turtleneck. And best of all, it makes me look slimmer. I'd make another one, but the thought of doing that many miles of DK weight stockinette so soon after finishing this one is enough to stop me in my tracks, at least until I finish a few more smaller projects. It's a good idea to sandwich some small successes between the homeric efforts.
