Eye Candy Friday

While I was in Seattle Tuesday, my cousin D-- took me on a tour of "The Market," as the locals call it; you know it as the Pike's Place Public Market, a Seattle institution for the past hundred years and a major tourist attraction today. There were food vendors, produce stands, and several flower stands. Oh, the colors!

When I got off the plane on Monday, this was on the window of the airport to greet me. My departing flight left from here, too, so I got out the camera to record this remarkable piece of art! I love the east-european-ey-woodcutty look, and again, oh the colors.

First, the home with the sleeping couple...

and then a long representation of the people of the night and the living constellations...

At the end there were two more trees, but there were so many people that I couldn't get a picture.
On my plane, each seat had an individual screen and there was a multitude of offerings to keep us occupied for the two hour flight. I found a trivia game wherein you could play against other passengers on your flight. They were kind of obtuse questions, for the most part ("which of these four Japanese poets did not commit suicide at the age of 27? Answer: So and So, who died of natural causes when he was 26.") but with some lucky guesses I won one round! And did it while knitting on the sock!
