Done and done

The Child's French Socks are both finished. I'll try to have a picture up tomorrow, but I was so excited about having them truly done that I put them on my feet the next morning and wore them to work. But they're done, and functioning.

So, for the Summer of Socks, I finished one pair. But they're orange enough to make up for their lack of multiplicity.

It's been nuts at work this week, and I've gone home exhausted every day so there hasn't been much to blog about. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Friday after lunch, when things calm down and get quiet again and I can have my life back.

Good news -- I have found and booked all of our hotels for our trip to England. We'll be in B&Bs half of the time, and in hotels half of the time. We got into our favorite London hotel! Click on over -- it's not as big and impersonal as it looks. The staff was friendly, and it is very conveniently located. The Gloucester Road tube station is two blocks away, and there's a full-sized Sainsbury's grocery store at the end of the building. The Emperor and I will also be in England for Guy Fawkes Night, November 5th. This should be a really fun trip.
