Friday was nuts, and I didn't get photos of the finished, entirely finished Child's French Socks up for your viewing pleasure again. So, I brought them with me to work today and meant to photograph them and upload the image, because we have dial-up at home and it takes f.o.r.e.v.e.r to upload anything. Brought socks, brought camera, forgot USB cord. So if you're reading this and there's a photo of impossibly orange socks at the top, it means that it wasn't the usual impossible chore to upload at home.
Since the sock has been finished, I feel free, so free! On Saturday I finished the first sleeve for the Emperor's Seamless Hybrid, and by this morning I had the second one about two thirds of the way there. He just might have his new sweater to wear in England after all. But I had a wild case of startitis, in which I cast on three times for one scarf, twice for another, tried to start the Leaf Lace Shawl again, and dragged out the pattern and yarn for Wendy Bernard's Le Slouch. Before I got very far on anything, I came to my senses, frogged all the new stuff, put it all downstairs (except the yarn for Le Slouch) and really booked on the seamless hybrid sleeves. Now I'm close enough that I can smell the raglan decreases, and it's flying through the needles.
The Pi Shawl is almost ready for the last round of increases! I've made a couple of mistakes, but none of them have been irredeemable or so blatant that I can't live with them. I'll be packing it up, with a new Patrick O'Brian sea tale, to keep me busy on the plane to Washington, D.C. Better go get ready for my trip now!
