Shaun the Sheep

I was introduced to Shaun the Sheep about ten years ago, when my brother-in-law and I went to the Ken Cinema in San Diego to see the Aardman animated short A Close Shave. Wallace the Inventor and his very smart dog Gromit save herds of sheep from an evil robot dog. They're helped by a very small sheep named Shaun, who pretty much steals the show. Some of the scenes are so funny (at least, I think they're funny) I can hardly control myself. All I can do is shake my head, choke, and point to the screen with tears in my eyes.

The same night I saw "A Close Shave," I had a realistic dream that I was having adventures with a small sheep, who I regarded as my pet and companion. I woke up so charmed from the dream that I made Shaun one of my muses, and he remains my buddy to this day.

So imagine my delight when I discovered that Shaun has his own television show in the UK, complete with website! You can watch snippits of the program on the web, too. When the Emperor and I head over the pond later this year, I hope to catch an episode. When you visit the site, turn on your sound.
