Look! Knitting!! Texture!! A lace pattern!! Half a leg!! Woo hoo!The Child's French Sock is an interesting knit. It's not so complex that your head hurts while you're working it, but it's complex enough that it holds your attention. I can zip through a needle, a round, a pattern repeat in nothing flat with this sock. It's also nice to see progress on a knitting project. It's been a long time, baby.
The Emperor and I watched an old episode of Doctor Who tonight, this time with Tom Baker as The Doctor. We haven't been particularly impressed with some of the older programs, and I know that the Emperor was tolerant of the Peter Davisson episodes because I like him. But we both got a real kick out of Tom Baker. If I had to catapult around time and space, I wouldn't mind doing it with that Doctor.
Earlier this week, we watched "North and South", a story about a middle class family from the south of England who falls on reduced circumstances and must move to the industrial north of that country. Yep, it's a period romance and it's delectable. You really don't know how it's going to end until it ends, and far be it from me to tell you here.
I'm going back to that sock now.

I'm so glad you enjoyed "North and South." I liked the tv adaptation so much I read the book--very good as well, but slightly different.
