And so has the Summer of Socks. I told you I was using an impossible color, and it's just as bright as the picture. The yarn is "Fortissima," a wool-nylon blend that I don't think is made anymore, at least not under the Scholler-Esslinger label. There are yarns with similar names from a similarly-named company, but it doesn't all match with what I'm knitting with. It's a great yarn -- it has good stitch definition, it's not splitty, and it's soft to the touch as you work with it. So far so good. Let's see how far I get before I have to frog it.
The cuffs are the easy part of the pattern, and the texture stitching looks like it's pretty easy. But those lace panels... well, I'm glad of a challenge, and that's what this will be. Nancy Bush's instructions are really clear, so unless User Error gets involved I should have some super socks in a couple of weeks.
And oh, that color. What a cheerful color. You can almost taste tangerine when you're knitting. I can't wait to get them on my feet under a pair of Teva sandals.

Hello, I read your Introduction on Summer of Socks and clicked on your blog to meet you. I love the orange color you chose for your socks! I almost picked the same color! I ended up going with a tweed instead but might use the orange in my stash for my next pair. My first pics are on my blog.
